Perch turns one!

Our small content management system Perch turns one year old today, and we’re marking the occasion with the launch of version 1.5.

This significant update adds new functionality, makes some improvements to what was already there, and fixes a few small bugs.

Most notably, Perch 1.5 introduces a developer API enabling Perch to be extended with apps offering additional functionality. The first of these is Pages – an app which enables content editors to dynamically add new pages to their site.

This system of apps has been designed so that site builders can add on the functionality they need without the overall CMS becoming bloated with features they just don’t need. Perch has always been about being a simple solution for small sites – apps help us to keep it that way.

Perch continues to go from strength to strength, with many customers finding that a small, low-cost yet commercially-backed CMS is a great solution to offer to their clients.
