We don't need to sell you on the benefits of CSS for web page layout. We know from experience however, that learning a new way of working takes time, and with browser bugs and differing implementations still being part of CSS design the process can be time-consuming and frustrating.
At edgeofmyseat.com we have in-depth knowledge of CSS, we have been creating websites using CSS layouts for the last five years, and Rachel Andrew is author of the highly rated CSS Anthology. We also have access to test our work on Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems and the wide range of browsers that are supported by these platforms.
Send us your layouts!
Whether you have an existing site built using tables that you would like redesigned, or have a new concept mocked up as a Fireworks or Photoshop file, we can turn that into an HTML or XHTML document complete with a stylesheet that creates your CSS layout. This will be tested in modern, standards compliant browsers and you can take this and use it as the template for your site.
Learning by doing
Many of our clients have found that by having a "starting point" of a valid, working CSS layout and implementing it across a site they have seen more easily how CSS works. The document and stylesheet that we return to you will be fully commented so that you know exactly what it is doing. We try to keep our work as 'hack free' and simple as possible, however where we have had to resort to a CSS hack to get the layout to work in a badly behaved browser, we will explain the reasons behind the hack and how it works.
