who we are

Founded in 2001, edgeofmyseat.com is a boutique web development company run by industry experts Rachel Andrew and Drew McLellan. Alongside developing the highly regarded Perch CMS we take on a select few client projects where we feel our experience and skills can really make a difference. This includes web development projects, consultancy, and assisting in the creation of larger project teams.

Rachel Andrew

Rachel Andrew founded edgeofmyseat.com in September 2001. Rachel has over 11 years of experience as a web developer, being skilled in a large number of server-side languages; front-end development in CSS, (X)HTML and JavaScript; database design, development and administration; and technical project management.

Drew McLellan

Prior to joining edgeofmyseat.com as a Director, Drew earned his stripes leading technical teams in a number of creative agencies. Drew’s experience of developing for the web spans more than a decade, working on projects for the likes of Nissan, Goodyear Dunlop, Siemens/Bosch, Cadburys, BP, ICI Dulux and Virgin.net as well as developing a number of innovative independent software products. Most recently, Drew has worked as a Web Developer for Search Innovation at Yahoo!.

Consultancy

When developing a new web application or making significant changes to an existing one you may feel that running your ideas by an experienced external developer would be beneficial. We can review your plans and offer advice based on our experience on a consultancy basis, with no attempt to convince you to contract us to do the development work ourselves. This consultancy can occur remotely or in person (or a mixture of the two) depending on your location.

Perch

Our first product is the mini-CMS Perch, developed to fill a gap in the market for a self-hosted, simple to install and use Content Management System.

Launched in 2005 24 ways receives traffic of up to 70,000 visits per day over the Advent period, as we post one article per day on a current web design or development topic.
